Are You Catching Crappies on Church Lake in Victoria?

Church Lake in Victoria MNListen to our video about Church Lake, located just west of Hwy. 11 behind St. Victoria Church.

There’s no public boat access, but take Victoria Circle to the little park on the East side of the lake.

They catch crappies here in the winter, some of them quite big. In the summer you can catch 1 to 1.5 lb. sunfish, they are fablous fighters!

It’s a very clear lake. Post a comment, tell us your fishing story!

    The secret is out!
A coworker told me about this lake years ago. I finally took my kayak out there right after ice-out in 2010.
Massive Warmouths(? Is that what they’re called?) and caught them one after the other non stop!
Small bass also were voracious that time of year, and take the small panfish jigs. You never know what’s going to hit.
I use an ultra-light rod. Great time. Fun lake for catch and release.
Later in summer it slows down, but the bass bite like crazy on the right day.
